M Iqbal Qaiser
Writer & Historian
Iqbal Qaiser, born in 1959 in Kasur, is a prolific Punjabi writer and historian. He has authored 15 books on Punjabi history, culture, and journalism, including Historical Sikh Shrines in Pakistan, Ujjade Daraan De Darshan (Jain temples), and Film Tey Lahore (Lahore’s film industry). In 2001, he founded Punjabi Khoj Gadh, a research institution preserving Punjabi heritage. His ongoing projects include a history of Lahore’s villages and a Punjabi film encyclopedia in collaboration with Mandeep Singh Sidhu, documenting Punjabi cinema worldwide. His work plays a vital role in preserving and promoting Punjabi language and culture.
